"I enjoy the relationships I have built with Verde Valley families. It brings me great joy watching our Red Rock kids grow and develop."

I love working with children, teens and families. Being able to provide care and help for kids and their families has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. It is truly rewarding to help a family through the rough times with a sick child or to watch a healthy child grow into a young adult.

Working in partnership with parents and supporting them is very important. I can be a source of information and guidance for parents. But most important, I am always working to develop a comfortable and trusting relationship with the child.

Becoming a mother myself a few years ago has added a new dimension to my abilities as a pediatrician. I now understand the worry of being up all night with a sick child and the joys that come with parenting. With every patient encounter, I always ask myself, “What would I do if this were my child?”

I have a special interest in working with teenagers and their families. Adolescence is a time of change and challenge for teens, preteens and their parents. The changes that occur are often confusing for both the teen and their family. I enjoy helping teens through this transition to become independent, caring and responsible adults.

At Red Rock Pediatrics, we always tell parents who are considering choosing one of us as their child's pediatrician, "There are pluses and minuses to having me as your pediatrician." The plus is that I like to spend time answering your questions, explaining what I'm thinking, and offering education about the child's medical problem. This may take more time than I have been given for the appointment. But, I'll take the extra time if it's needed. So the minus is that doing this makes me late for the next patient who has been waiting. So, sometimes, you'll be the patient for whom I'm taking extra time, and, sometimes, you're the next patient and may have to wait for me.

I am happy to meet with families for an "interview appointment" prior to their selection of a primary care physician for their child. This includes expectant parents who would like to meet me before the birth of their baby. I also meet with teenagers who would like to see if they want me to become their physician.
